U3A Lichfield
Formerly known as University of the Third Age, this is a volunteer-run organisation that encourages older adults to keep their brains alive and socialise with like-minded people via low-cost, local interest groups, from Art to Zoology. We have around 600 members and over 65 groups, all member-run. Every month we run talks at Lichfield Guildhall, open to all.
The u3a operates nationally: members can also join regional and national talks and events.
We provide opportunities for people who are no longer in full-time employment to share their expertise as Group Leaders or to simply join a group. If there isn’t one for your interest, then the local committee can help you to start one. But with everything from Beginners’ (and Advanced) Guitar groups, to Architecture, Climate Change, Photography, Out To Lunch, Philosophy and more, you might find that we keep you busy: you can join as many groups as you like.
Find out more about us on our website or come along to a Wednesday-afternoon talk: see EVENTS for details.
